To access Hanover Township Library’s Catalog online, go to PrairieCat.

  1. Login by entering the 14 numbers on your library card and your PIN (last 4 numbers of your library card number). You can now access your Hanover Township Library account, search the library's holdings, and place holds on items.
  2. Click on "Advanced Search."
  3. Put your parameters - Keyword, Title, Subject, Author into one or both of the boxes.
  4. If you’re looking for a specific format, pull the dropdown menu by "Format" and choose.
  5. To select Hanover’s card catalog, pull down the dropdown menu by "Libraries" and select "Hanover Township Library."
  6. Press "Search."
The old drawer card catalogs, complete with cards, were donated to the Hanover Historic Society.

The Hanover Township Library has its collection of books, audiobooks, videos and DVDs, etc., cataloged into PrairieCat.

All Hanover Township Library patrons' accounts are online and can be accessed via PrairieCat. Enter your library card number (all 14 numbers) and your PIN (last 4 numbers of your library card number).

You may do a simple search or an Advanced Search. You may search all the libraries in the consortium or choose a specific library (use the dropdown box next to "Libraries" in the Advanced Search mode to choose a specific one).

In Advanced Search you can set any or all of the following search parameters: Keyword, Title, Subject, Author, Format (i.e., book, book on CD, DVD, large print book, etc.), Libraries, Locations, Language, and Year.

If you want to know if the Hanover Township Library has an item, go to Advanced Search. Put in your search parameters and, from the Libraries dropdown menu, choose Hanover Township Library.

If you find any item(s) on which you would like to place a hold, you can place the hold yourself by choosing "Request It" and having the item delivered to the Hanover Township Library - HNLY-13.

The librarian will place interlibrary loan holds for those patrons who do not have Internet access.

The Hanover Library can also place interlibrary loan requests in several other databases in addition to PrairieCat.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Policies

  • Patrons have access to interlibrary loan materials, as long as they have no overdue items and/or fines.
  • ILL items are renewable once, if PrairieCat allows.
  • Patrons must return ILL items to the Hanover Township Library by their due dates so that the librarian can return ILL items without incurring any fines.
  • The patron must pay any fines for overdue ILL items.
  • The patron is responsible for the cost of a lost/damaged ILL item.
  • The patron is responsible for any postage fees if items are ordered from another state.

  • This service is FREE with a valid Hanover Township Library card; you will need the barcode number beginning with 28515. (If you don't know your library card number, we can send it to you.) If you don't have a Hanover Library card, please come into the library to sign up. Bring proof of residency in Hanover Township.

  • Downloaded titles automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees!
  • The OMNI collection has hundreds of popular fiction and non-fiction titles from which to choose, so there should be something that appeals to everyone.
